do colleges want to see your high school transcript if you're applying as a transfer?

do colleges want to see your high school transcript if you're applying as a transfer?

yes, many colleges require HS transcripts and a letter of recommendation from the HS college counselor as well.

Depends on the college, some colleges don’t require an HS record if you already completed a certain amount of credits in your current/previous school.

All the schools I’ve come across require a HS transcript if applying during freshman year for sophomore transfer. Other schools require it regardless of the number of credits earned.

I’ve never seen one that wanted hs counselor rec, but have seen most wanting hs record … at least for soph transfer. But I’m sure there are variations, as you see reported here.

If your hs record was lackluster (or worse ), but you’ve changed your MO since then… don’t worry about it. Show your growth and improvement. Colleges appreciate that people change.

When S applied 2 years ago, Yale required the standard HS counselor recommendation form to be filled out, as well as a copy of his HS transcript. Surprised us too!
