<p>Your old transcripts won’t fully go away until you finish with school entirely, though. A lot of places ask for “all transcripts,” which would include the ones prior to the institution from which you earned a degree. This is especially relevant with grad or professional (ie, law or business) school.</p>

<p>@mission: no-go. Anything taken off Berkeley campus will NOT, I repeat, will NOT count toward your GPA. However, I think you can take classes on other UC campuses and those will count toward your UC GPA.</p>

<p>There are several GPAs you will functionally have once you’re at Cal:</p>
<p>1) Overall GPA
2) Major GPA
3) UC GPA</p>
<p>1 is calculated from all classes you take for a grade at Cal. 2 is calculated from the classes you take in your declared major. 3 is calculated from all classes you have taken, at any time, on a UC campus.</p>
<p>CC grades will NEVER be a part of your GPA at Cal or any UC. They are 100% separate. HOWEVER: graduate schools, professional schools, and employers who request transcripts will frequently want to see grades from all work done in all colleges you’ve attended. They may then take those numbers and calculate their own total GPA, but Cal will never do this on your transcript with them.</p>
<p>(It is possible, however, that your transferred grades will APPEAR on your transcript, even though they won’t be calculated into anything. I forget; I haven’t looked at my transcripts in about a year.)</p>
<p>Your major GPA may include grades from CC, but those GPAs normally aren’t ever calculated out on the transcript.</p>
