Do counselor letter of recs have to be sent in by the deadline?

<p>I don't know if my counselor is able to complete my letter of rec by the 1st, which is my deadline. Do colleges still accept letters from counselors after the deadline? </p>

<p>Anyone know for Cornell?</p>

<p>I know some do, but my friend who applied to USC tried to submit his application but couldn't because his counselor letter of rec. wasn't complete.</p>

<p>It’s better if they are, but most colleges give leeway on recommendation deadlines because they know that’s not entirely within the applicant’s control.</p>
