Do csu's and uc's accept D's

Im in a intro to chem class right now that I’ve taken for the third time and Im not sure If i will pass again. In order to save time I wont go into detail about why anything. If i do end up getting a D can i still transfer, or would I have to retake it? Im a kinesiology major with an emphasis on fitness specialist and the list of courses im required to take for my major include chem 120. I saw that it is possible to transfer as long as your not a stem major but im not sure and I really dont wanna take the class again. Also are there any things I can do to alleviate it, such as the clep exam or maybe taking it at university? i Just want to make sure im on track to transfer and wouldnt have to wait another year because of one class I cant get. Especially since im an exercise major I dont see how important chemistry could be.

if its a required class, i am pretty sure you need a C for it to count.
I’d contact your target school for specific advice.
good luck

You can call your target schools but you need to pass all major prep and pre-req courses with a C- or higher. I would also check with your CC transfer advisor.

Having a D or several D’s on your transcript will impact your transfer GPA for many CSU’s and probably all the UC’s.
