I will be starting community college this summer. My three target schools are Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and UT. Majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

My question is would the classes that each of these schools would take or want me to take for mechanical engineering greatly differ? Or am I supposed to have 1 primary school in mind when planning my courses in community college (for transfer purposes of course).

I notice that the transfer courses required for schools like A&M are only like 30 credit hrs worth, but I am planning on transferring until junior year. Does 30 hrs not equal about one full year of credit? How do I find out what to take for the 2nd year of community college?

I would like to attend A&M or UT (they're proximity to my hometown as opposed to Tech), but their slots seem very limited and competitive for transfer, plus Tech offers decent scholarships for a transfer with like a 3.0 gpa.
