Do ED admitted students get invited to Admitted Students Day?

I know it sounds like a silly question, but there is no mention of Admitted Students Day in my kid’s admissions packet. Says “we look forward to seeing you in August.” I know from their website that the college has such a day in late April. I plan on calling, but wondering if the Admitted Day is for RD students only–since the college needs to woo them and convince them to come. My kid, on the other hand, is definitely coming under ED agreement.

Some colleges invite them (TCNJ for example)

My D was accepted to her college ED and was invited to accepted students day (at Lafayette College). The invitation to accepted students day did not come with her acceptance – it didn’t come until after the RD decisions went out – much closer to the date of the event. She went and met up with people from a facebook group she was on for the college, shopped at the bookstore, etc. – she had a blast since her decision was already made so she felt no pressure. If anything it reaffirmed that it was a great choice for her.

I would wait for now. If you see the event posted on the admissions website, your child wants to go and still hasn’t been invited a few weeks before the date of the event, then you can call admissions at that point and ask if he/she would be welcome to attend.

And Congrats on the ED acceptance!

It’s likely the the invitations for it have not gone out yet. They probably wait to send them out until all of the applications are reviewed and all offers made. Waiting allows them to send all invitations out as one mass mailing.

Thanks all! I did call Admissions about another matter and asked about the Day. They gave me the date and said all are welcomed. I think you are right, comfortablycurt, the official invite likely comes out after RDs are settled. And thanks for the congrats!! Good luck to all in RD.
