Do electives count a lot?

This year (jr year) I took 2 electives called Gotham and Science elective, and I got an A in both of them.
When colleges look at my transcript and see these, will they look at them like legit classes?

Generally grades in core classes are the most important, but an A in any class will obviously never hurt your application, and can really only help. Also, it’s a plus if you’ve demonstrated interest in the subjects of those electives, in some way, outside of school (shows focus, etc.). :]
