Do emails go out in waves?

Acceptances first and then, rejections?

Acceptances, waitlist(ers), rejections.

I should add: or so I'm told.

That truly sucks. Is it true though?

Schools should stop treating rejects (I'm sure I'm one) so badly...

First off, I don't think they really treat them badly... I'm sure the people are grouped by accept waitlist deny on the computers, and thus the easiest and most efficient way to send the emails is to send them out in those waves. Second I personally think I would be more upset seeing an email at 5:00 and getting my hopes up and then seeing a rejection then I would be knowing that b/c I didn't get an email in the first wave, I am most likely denied/waitlisted. It is a more gradual let down than just boom all at once, you are denied.

Plus if you have any friends or people you know applying, this way they aren't calling you to celebrate at the same time you are feeling depressed, or vice versa. Personally I believe this system seems to be more "denied friendly" than most are.

They DO NOT send them in any particular order, though they do send them in waves. I wasn't waiting refreshing my inbox for scea, so I went back and checked my time.

I didnt receive mine until one and a half hours after 5.

So I can only imagine what it would have been like for that hour and a half thinking I was rejected had I actually camped out by my inbox.

Yep. It's sink or swim.

hahaha, gregh313, that is going to be like 50% of the people on here, I bet! Don't do it you guys, go see a movie or something!
