Do essays count most in applications?

So, I’ve been hearing about Brown that if you write an absolutely killer essay and have sucky SAT scores, essays make up BIG time. I wrote an extremely unique essay, have really REALLY REALLY REALLY sucky sat scores, and i’m wondering whether or not this will cover them up at all haha…input is GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I would venture to guess that the personal essay is worth more than standardized test scores, but that's generally true for people who are strong in both. If the rest of your application is in shape, then don't let a bad score deter you from applying.

By the way: didn't the freshman deadline already pass? If you're applying for next year, try your hand at the ACT.

pm me this essay

i would like to read

may i read your essay too?

how "sucky" are said SAT scores?

I know this is off topic, but I can't resist pointing out that nothing can be "extremely unique." Unique means "one of a kind." It's one of my grammatical pet peeves. :)

um, my sat SUCK scores really do suck...an di don't mean like a 2290, i mean more along the lines of a 1680...which I AM retaking! (hopefully i can get like a 1900+ lol)....it's so hard to do well on it

p.s. i applied lol
