Hi. I recently finished my last spring semester at my community college. I still have a month of high school left, and I doubt Duke gives credit for community college courses. I was wondering if I have to send my official dual enrollment transcript separately to Duke’s Office of Registrar, since the college courses I have taken will appear on my final high school transcript anyways. If so, then should I send them now or wait until I’m completely done with high school? Thanks!
You don’t have to send your dual enrollment courses if they’re on your high school transcript. Duke likely won’t use them for anything.
Duke does not count community college courses for graduation credits: https://trinity.duke.edu/undergraduate/academic-policies/transfer-credit
If you’re interested in using these courses to get out of certain major requirements, like using an Econ class to get out of Econ 101 and go straight to Econ 201, that is approved by the director of the undergraduate studies for the respective department on an individual basis, in my experience; they’re more interested in the course syllabus and course details about what you covered in class. That said, I’m not sure how differently that works for community college.
@allthelamps Thank you! It’s probably better to just retake those classes in case the courses weren’t rigorous enough.
