Do future employers or internships look at what i did the summer after HS?

hello, i wanted to specifically ask on this forum..
i am now going to be a freshman in college but i feel like i need to do something this summer before college.

I am worried that i dont have a job or an internship while my friends do..
My question is, do future employers or internships look at what i did the summer after high school??

What are some things u guys did during the summer after high school?

Thanks!

Future summers will matter more. What you do IN college will matter more, imo. It’s ok to have an easier summer right out of high school. You haven’t even started university yet. If you do want to do something, have you looked into volunteering? Your local library or hospital may have some openings. It may be a little late to find a job but there are things you can do to stay occupied. When my resume wasn’t as full (before I became active on campus/increased work experience, etc.), I found two volunteer positions to fill up my time. Something to think about!

Thanks for sharing!

Any other suggestions, anyone?

A lot depends how far in the future the resume review is occuring … for a job or internship next summer what you do this summer matters a lot even if it working at 7-11 … when you’re graduating from college this summer will not hurt you at all (it could help if you do something amazing).
