Do good SAT II scores make up for a B?

If you got a B in a Physics class, but got a 750-800 on the Physics SAT II test, would you have "made" up for the B?

For the most part, yeah. They’re not doing to strike you down for having a B in a particular subject, so long as your GPA is still strong. Especially not if you demonstrate your capabilities in some other way, like with awesome SAT II scores… which I did not have haha (really, I’m not being modest, they were about 650s) but I got into a few ivy leagues :)

Here’s the thing. My GPA isn’t high to begin with because I took all regular classes in my freshman year. During the 1st semester of my sophomore year, I got 3 B’s, but I turned all of those into A’s for the second semester. And for the 1st semester of my junior year, I received 2 B’s, and I’m pretty sure I can only turn one of those B’s into an A for the second semester (calculus).

Other than GPA, all the other parts of my application are very solid - high SAT score, good recommendations, hopefully a good essay, good EC’s, and etc. I just feel that, in order to make up for this “bad GPA”, I have to prove that I have academic prowess; and I’m just wondering if taking SAT II’s will do that.
