<p>Depends on a lot of things. A fair amount of intro or lower level classes are taught by grad students.</p>
<p>Labs are typically directed by TA’s. If that lab has a lecture involved with it, then that is instructed by the professor. If for say you have a section on top of class, then you’re instructor will teach, and once a week your TA will cover material presented in those lectures.</p>
<p>It’s usually only summer classes that are taught by graduate students. During the year, you’ll almost never see a graduate student teach a class. Your son will have them as TAs, of course.</p>
