Do HS transcripts always need a college counselor signature?

Above question

They need to be processed in whatever way is official for your school. At our D’s school, transcripts are sent by the registrar on security paper in sealed envelopes with a school stamp across the flap. There is no signature and the GC is not involved in sending transcripts.

To be official, they can’t come from you. There’s no way around using the school’s system, whatever it is. So whatever you’re think of doing, for good or evil, you can’t do it.

Some schools such as UT Austin let applicants upload a copy or photocopy of an official transcript (which is the route I took). They always have to have a signature of one of the people working in the student services office, so there’s no way of getting around that if I wanted to.
