I visited Bucknell awhile ago and asked an admissions officer if I have legacy status because my mother attended Bucknell for her masters degree and she said she wasn’t sure…so I would just like to know if I count as a legacy ( and I couldn’t find the answer on the Bucknell website)
Definitely mention it when you can.
I seem to remember that in my D3’s application they did not ask about legacy. ( I think they did with S and D1) She made sure she got it in, in some way. A parent attending, even as a grad student, should be mentioned.
All 3 of my kids got in. One attended.
Maybe it depends on the university, and the answer might be on the application. When my daughter was applying to universities, I checked on whether the place where I got my graduate degree would give her legacy status, and it would not – they only gave legacy status to people whose parent went there for a bachelor’s degree. Turned out she wasn’t interested enough in that university to even apply, but what you are asking is a very good question. I would either check the application or email someone in the admissions office to get an answer (better to have it in writing than to call).
