Do I email college about application mistake or not? PLEASE HELP

Accidently for three of my activities, I put 36 weeks per year, when of them requires more around 18 hours and the other two activities average about 27 weeks per year when accounting for the previous years. Do I email the schools I applied to apologize for my miscalculation? It was a genuine error, and I had no intention of dishonesty. I thought all of them were weekly until I realized they were bi-weekly. Last two years, two of them were weekly, which is how I averaged it out with the bi-weekly weeks this year. Is this a grave enough mistake to email the colleges? Advice or comments please

Since no one has taken a stab at an answer for you, I will try.

This is a tough one, as an AO (which I am not) - I might think you purposely misled the school and then felt guilty about it and wanted to change your answer. On the other hand, I wonder if it really makes that much of a difference in an admission decision? (for example, if they were not major related then maybe it’s not a big deal).

If you were my kid, I’d recommend you do reach out and make the correction with the school - explaining it as you have here. I hope that helps!

Good luck!

Oof, this is a tricky question because at first look it may not look too obvious that there is a mistake but if anyone, were to double-check it, would look incredibly bad. Regardless, I think honesty should be first priority and you should email them about the honest mistake. I think you sound incredibly apologetic here and I think as long as you convey that, then you should be fine! I don’t think you are hurting your chances by being honest about a mistake.
