Do I even have a CHANCE at Stanford?

Hi, I'm an Asian American that is taking THE risk of applying to Stanford, Penn, WashU St. Louis and Rice.

Hooks: EXTREMELY strong Arts Supplement. Parents immigrated here with no money and I grew up very poor. I did not have the chance to learn to read and write English until 2nd grade. However, I am not the first generation to go to college.

Rank: School does not rank, but I'm from a top 15 US News Public School

AP Courses in the past: AP European History, AP Chemistry (4 on Exam), AP US History (4 on Exam), AP Physics B (4 on Exam), AP English Language (4 on Exam)

SAT: 2080, 780 M, 630 CR, 670 WR (I'm retaking and expecting 2200+)
SATII: 720 Math IIC, 730 US History

Teacher/Counselor Recs: Stellar

Again, emphasis on EXTREMELY strong arts supplement. So if I write stellar essays, do I have a chance of getting into these colleges?

Thanks for your time.

i mean you have a chance, just write a good essay (which you have), and you certainly have a chance.

chance me?

Look, if you are applying as a specialist in a certain area--as in music or art, then everything will depend upon your arts supplement--which is why they ask for them. You should know that your current SATs (2080) are quite low for Stanford, though--but like I said--they are really specific in looking at those supplements and making up their minds--so make sure it is the absolute best it can be. They will overlook the SAT score if the supplement is a "WOW".

Good luck.

If you get the SAT score up it's worth applying to, it's not like you'll never get in with those stats.

with that arts supplement and stellar essays, u have a tremendous chance fosho.
To quote the world renowned musician Clifford Joseph Harris Jr., you can get in wherever you like.

If you're good enough to get recruited for music you're in easily. If you're not, I'm sensing a reject.
