Do I even have a chance of going into an Ivyleague?

These are what my specifications are going to be, hopefully. Ignoring whether or not i can do this, can you guys be as honest as possible and tell me if i have any chance at all at going into an Ivy League or any other colleges with these specifications?

Oh yea, i came to the US during freshman year from S. Korea. That's why my EC's and major prizes suck, cuz all my prizes are Korean...anyways...

GPA: 4.0

SAT: 2300 or higher

ACT: None

SAT Subject Tests: Math L2 800, Physics 800, Chemistry 800, Korean with Listening 800, probably World History 800

APs: Calc BC, Chem, Physics C Mech, Bio, Environmental Science, Psychology, Human Geography, Microecon, Macroecon --Assuming all 5's, which i highly believe i can do

ECs: Quiz Bowl member 3 years, Science Club 3 years, Math Club 3 years, Robotics 3 years, NHS, played cello for 7 years, DMYS orchestra( out-of-school orchestra), School Orchestra

Major Prizes: MMPC(Michigan Math Prize Competition) Top 100 for 3 years, AIME qualifier 4 years

Volunteering: About 300+ hrs, regularly volunteering every week
Teacher Rec, Counselor Rec will probably be great...

My dream school is Yale, but i honestly know that with these specification it's impossible to get in it. I just want you to be as honest as possible and tell me which schools i have a shot at, like Brown, Columbia, UC Berkeley, and so on. And if there's anything i can improve on, please tell me! I know i have a lot to improve in my ECs, but im not sure what to do...

And if you ever got admitted to a good school, could you please post your specifications (like your SAT scores, EC's, number of APs and so on)??

It's my first time posting here, and i read posts before written by very informed people. I hope you guys can help me! Thanks in advance.

you seem like a beast. you’ve done all you can do. you without a doubt have a shot, and a good one at that, depending on the school. if your application emphasizes how you’re different than the many applicants with perfect grades and scores, your chances will increase. are you a senior now, just waiting to hear back from schools?

Domestic? Chances are good
International? Chances aren’t so good
GL either way.

haha no, i’m currently a sophomore. It was really hard for me to adjust to a new country, meet new friends and everything… I tried really hard to make my schedule like this. This is currently all ‘expected’ or (some people might say fake stats…) but i’m confident that’ i can make my specs like this…

You shouldn’t say “An Ivy League”. Know which college you want to go to and strive for that one, not just for its name. YOu have a solid chance. Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1440020-jerome-fisher-chances-2.html#post15536562</a></p>

You are a match for Berkeley and some of the Ivy League schools like Cornell and Brown. You can count on it. Good chances at the rest, because you are impeccable. A beast, like monimon3 said.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. Yale is not “impossible” – with your work ethic, you are a solid candidate.

It’s hard to chance you without real stats. You just need to be focused and know what you want to accomplish, choosing a school based on how well it provides for your needs, rather than name recognition.

That said, Yale, Brown, and Columbia are reaches for almost everyone. Cornell and Berkeley are good bets if you get high enough grades and SAT scores, with reasonable ECs.

It would have been nice to get your real stats. And what are you looking to major in? (I may have just been oblivious, but I didn’t see it.) It would be nice if we could see what you’re interested in. Based in just your classes/tests, I don’t feel like you’ve demonstrated any one passion. It feels like you just did what you thought you were supposed to do for this ‘formula’ called college, but they’d like to see some interests that you focus and pursue.

hmm have you actually achieved everything you mentioned?
and yes, your ideal major would be helpful.

It’s ppl like u who make ME feel bad about my stats… chance me back?

read this, and you’ll stop the compliment- fishing … ;P

You can take a look at my old stats: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1057282-chance-worried-ivy-hopeful.html</a></p>

Ended up in at Duke, NYU, UVa, 0/8 to the Ivies. Take that for what it’s worth, and feel free to ask if you’ve got questions.
