Do I even have a chance?

So I submitted my application to one of my top universities, which happens to be a research university, yet did not write about my experience and passion for research. I’ve signed up for an interview as well, but I feel like I made a HUGE mistake in not writing about research. I’m sorry if this sounds really trivial and silly, but do I still have a chance of getting in?

The number of high school students that do REAL research is pretty small. Definitely not an expectation that grad students have. Furthermore, most of the research done at these research universities is done by professors and graduate students. Don’t worry about it.

No, it’s not a huge mistake. Most high schools students don’t do any research at all - even those who end up as future academicians. So don’t worry about this. As Qwerty568 say, you aren’t applying for grad school were publications may count.

That should read “not an expectation research universities have”; my bad.
