So I applied with a 3.73 gpa coming from an extremely rigorous private high school. However, I got a 1200 on the sat. But I have so many leadership positions and mission trips I’ve gone on and more community service I have been involved with. But let’s be honest, hasn’t every single person that has gotten in had at LEAST a 1300 on the sat?
I scored a 1230 and got in! I had a lot of leadership positions and had a pretty impressive internship. Plus I think I displayed a ton of demonstrated interest.
While it is great that @789frizbee got in, @hopefulfwfu44 should know that the circumstances were definitely not “typical”–he or she was accepted for the spring semester–something I don’t believe Tulane has ever done before, and was one of the 100 persons who received the “mistake email” --was accepted by Tulane inadvertently --they had to recant but then they accepted him or her and others for spring. No amount of demonstrated interest will likely overcome low standardized test scores.
I don’t believe they threw together spring admission.
They look at your gpa and course rigor before sats, so if you are taking challenging and ap courses I’m sure you will be fine. However, RD is more difficult than EA.
RD is much more rigorous than EA.
Thanks for the input everyone! I wish I could have applied EA. I didn’t find about Tulane till December and immediately knew it was for me. But I couldn’t apply ED in case they didn’t give me any money. Still have hope though and really hope I will be at Tulane next year.
