Do I even have a chance?

<p>I'm an in-state student from rural Southwest Virginia.</p>

<p>Class Rank: 12 out of 380
GPA: 98.6 (I think I have a 4.1 or 4.2 maybe? I don't know how the 4 point scale works)</p>

<p>SATs: 1920 overall (700 Critical Reading, 630 Math, 590 Writing)
SAT IIs: 770 US History, 620 Math Lvl 1</p>

<p>I took mostly honors and dual enrollment classes..my school doesn't offer APs or IBs.
(I hope that does hurt my chances :O)</p>

<p>Extra Cs- National Honor's Society, FBLA, Envirothon, Ecology Club, Band, Forensics</p>

<p>Comm. Service- Volunteer at local community arts center, Volunteer at the town Library </p>

<p>I hope I'm able to get in. I've always dreamed of going to UVA. I'm afraid it might be out of my league. My school offers almost no opportunities and I feel that I'm at at a disadvantage compared to other students. :(</p>

<p>I think you have a really good shot. UVA seems to look out for promising students from the rural areas. They add a lot to the school.</p>
