Do I even have a chance?

My high school doesn't offer and AP or Honors classes, do you think that an Ivy League school would take this into account? Or is this a death sentence?

Given that you are asking that question I must say that you have no chance.

I asked if they would take it into account, not for ******ness.

yep. they will defintiely take it into account

Yes, but they will expect you to seek academic challenges elsewhere (self-studying APs, taking classes at the local CC or university, etc.)

Does this mean you take all of your classes with regular joes? Not to be arrogant, but I am 100% sure that if I had taken no honors or AP classes in high school I would’ve gotten a 4.0 - my overall GPA ended up being a 3.7 because of honors and AP classes. If you get straight A’s in all “regular” classes, it’s going to be tough for colleges to gauge how smart you are. However, this EXTREMELY STUPID girl at my school got a 4.0 in all regular classes and got into Bowdoin ED, so I would say you have a shot at some top tier schools - maybe not ivies.

Uh, a score of 2250 isn’t “unreasonably high” at the Ivies…it’s pretty average, actually. Most unhooked candidates will have scores of that high or higher.

Haavain said that self-studying AP’s is a good idea, but do you think this is a good idea? I have the ability to study the AP’s outside of my school system, do you guys think that it’s worth it?

This place : [Excellence in Education](http://www.excellenceineducation.ae/) is close to my house, I can easily go there and get the AP’s tutored to me. However, this won’t count towards my grades at school, is it worth it?

Thanks a lot guys.

You don’t need to go to a hoaky place to be “tutored” in APs. Just buy the 30$ book (Baron’s, 5 steps to a 5, Princeton Review etc.). Read it. Sign up for the test. And lastly, Dom it. In all honesty, if you really are smart, AP tests (save for maybe the language tests and Physics C, Chemistry - and a few others I don’t care to think of) should be a joke. You definitely do not need some pricey ■■■■■■ tutorial such as “Excellence in Education.”

‘Sign up for the tests.’

My problem is that my school doesnt offer AP or Honors classes, where else would I sign up for the AP tests?
