Do I even have a shot?

I know my stats aren't the strongest:

3.7 Unweighted, 4.3 Weighted GPA
ACT: 29
SAT: 630 Reading, 650 Math, 590 Writing (Ouch!)

My EC's are very strong, I'm captain/president of a few organizations as well as many honor societies. I've won many awards in debate and in foreign language competitions statewide.

My essay is extremely innovative, and is currently being refined in the fires of my English departments hand for it's final crafting.

By the end of my high school career, I would have take 11 AP classes. I have never taken a regular class before.

My standardized test scores and unweighted GPA are pretty terrible, I'm applying to CAS in international relations. Do I have a chance? Thank you for all honesty!

(Do you think I should sign up for the ACT to take it again? I despise the SAT)

yes, as a matter of fact, if yoou apply early i guarantee you’ll get in.

I do plan to do ED. Thank you so much! And please excuse me if I ever seem like I am gloating on this board, I want everyone to have good vibes and positive thoughts!

No problem, everyone just wants a little reassurance. There are some robot-like students on this board who scare everybody.

UW GPA is solid, SAT is very low, even for ED.

I’d say mid-reach ED and even if you manage to get in, don’t expect to get any FA.

Your ACT is good. I think you have a great shot! And if you want, don’t send in the SAT score if you feel is too bad :)

NYU allows you to send in 3 SAT IIs (one math/science, one humanities, one of your choice) or 3 AP test scores (again, one math/science, one humanities, one of your choice) instead of the SAT I or ACT. Considering your 11 APs, these options might make more sense for you!
