Do I even have a shot? :(

Stats:

UC GPA - 3.64 (RAAAAAGGEEEE). I do have an upward trend though. 2.8 freshman year, 3.86 junior year.
Class rank: school doesn’t rank
SAT - CR: 700, M 690, W 700 = 2090
SATII Math II - 640 US History 650 (retaking both this Saturday)
APs/Honors - five APs and one honors (none freshman year)

ECs are pretty weak. How important would you say they are for Davis?

yes, you do have a shot. although, currently it is not a good one but not terrible.

Seems like there isn’t a whole lot you can change at this point, the SAT score is good but the GPA is well below the average. I’d guesstimate you have around a 30% of acceptance. Good luck

^30%?
I say that OP is a shoe in! Don’t stress about your freshman year GPA, they don’t even factor that into your GPA calculation for admission. 3.64 is pretty damn good, I say 70%.

30% may be a bit low, but I feel that 70% (“shoe in”) is definitely overly high. Also, it’s my understanding that the freshman year is taken into account still, not completely disregarded. The UC GPA is about 0.4 below the average of accepted applicants, and while the SAT I is above the average, the SAT II scores may not be as high as needed. I didn’t see the first-generation though, that will definitely help.

u have a shot, so don’t be scurred, LOL.

good luck!

Go to the link I have listed below for your UC chances. Click on “Custom Tables”, answer a few questions, and enter up to 3 “characteristics” at a time such as your SAT score, GPA, intended major, etc. Good luck.

i got in w/ a 3.4 and a 2050…

stop stressin and just chill

thanks to everybody who replied. I have an update of my SAT II scores after receiving them this morning.

US History - 720
Math II - still 640

anybody else care to chance me?

I think if you have killer personal statements then you have a good chance at Davis. Especially with the first generation. However, no one has a crystal ball and I honestly don’t think anyone, except the college admission people themselves, actually know how the colleges accept students. They do want a diverse population and a range of students so maybe if you have something special you could bring to their school, it would make you more of an interesting candidate to them. Just apply and try though!
