Do I even stand a chance? Any help, please.

Alright, let's attempt to make this short (I have a history for dragging things on, I apologize in advance). I am a female, junior in high school, and getting ready for the oh so wonderful experiance of choosing colleges. But you see, it was made easy for me. I currently live in illinois (Around chicago area) but was originally born in sarasota, florida. While there, my parents signed my sister, twin brother and I up for 'florida pre-paid college program'. Basically, after conformiation, I can attend any public florida college, and tuition is covered. Atomatically, my first choice was Florida State University. I'm looking to get a master's in clinical psychology. Funny aspect? my twin brother ALSO wishes to attend there. We visited the campus a bit ago, and I ADORED IT, as did he. We decided, if we're accepted, we will attend FSU without moments hesitation. One problem: I'm overly stressing that I won't get in, I heard it's much more competitive, PLUS, I'm out-of-state. So, here the run down of my high school situation:
Freshmen year: I didn't do very well, I will be honest. GPA: I'm unsure of.
Sophmore year: Did much better, but towards the end of the year was trying to keep my grades up (Delt with a death of a close family friend, and put my dog down around the same month)
Junior year: I'm maintaing anywhere from a 3.4 GPA to a 3.6 right now. I am in Advanced Placement Junior english.
Senior year: I am enrolled for three more AP classes (AP enviormental science, AP senior english, and AP psychology)
So, I have a total of four AP classes throughout high school. I can usually maintain within a B average. Have not taken ACT, but am estimating about a 24 (I know, not the best, but I've been studying very hard for the math portion, which is the one that will kill me.) I have a job (Have sense freshmen year) have been playing violin for about nine years now, and have a TON of community service hours. I also won 'author of the month' last year for my school, and plan on writing a very good essay (In the process of it now). So, basically, do I even stand a chance? I know that any college probably doesn't look too positivly at out-of-state students, but do you think that if the admission see's that a twin brother and sister, from out of state wish to go to their school, it will be a positive effect? Please help, I desperatly wish to be a 'nole, and I have this nawing feeling that I won't make it. Any advice would be great, thank you.

Also, side note. I don't know if this will count on anything, but it's something I'm proud of. I have completed a full novel, would that be something to say on my addmission essay?

I’m not an expert, but from what my high school counselor told me colleges (especially the bigger ones) are required to meet a regional acceptance standards. by that i mean, however many apply from one region a certain percentage has to be accepted. He told me the requirements were not set in stone, but if the colleges do meet the standards they will apply for more national and state funding. He also said this is a greater advantage for less populated regions though. (I’m from Montana and have less then a million people in my state. The surrounding states, Wyoming and the Dakotas, are also pretty similar, so it might apply more to myself.) As for your academics, the GPA seems about in range and your other activities are pretty good. if you could I’d aim a little higher then a 24 though. Some of this is by assumptions, and the facts I’ve heard from other people. But from my understanding I’d say that you are at least on the right track.

GPA is good if you’re a Florida native, ACT needs to be mid to high 20’s, and an SAT wouldn’t hurt either-- although I’m of the opinion that it’s better to take both major standardized tests. ECs are quite strong too. I think you have a real chance at it-- good luck!

Chance back please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1118399-chance-theatre-acting-inclined-junior-ill-chance-you-back-4.html

Hi, I’m 15 years old and am currently a junior. I have a 3.5 gpa and took the ACT for practice/just to see how it’d go with no prep in December and got a 25 (( I am retaking it again and hope to get a 28-30 hopefully! I am Junior Class President, heavily involved in Student Council, Part of NHS-going to be an officer next year, actively involved in Key Club and voleenteer countless hours. I am also an active voleenteer in my church. I was selected for leadership in my states’s conference. I have taken challenging classes my whole high school career and took 2 AP Classes this year and am taken 4 next year. I also job shadow my dentist. I want to be a dentist or an oral surgeon and am applying for UIC this June early admission. Do you think I can get in with my current stats? I am praying so because it is the only school that tuition is reasonable and yet offers a strong medical field. I have also been on varsity tennis for 3 years and varsity track for 3 years. I hope to appear well rounded. Thank you for reading this and taking the time to answer, I appreciate it very much as I come from a middle-class family and do not have many options for college due to my low gpa and only a couple schools offer pre-dental in Illinois and their tuition is well out of my range. Thanks once again!

I’m not very sure about pre-dental schools in illinois, but I will defiently check for you. You could try Illinois State University, or perhapos southern Iliinois University? I suggest meeting with your school counsler, they REALLY help out when it comes to college selections, and help you narrow it down to schools you stand a chance at. I wish you the best of luck:)
