Do I even stand a chance?

Hi! I’m a rising junior and I really have to start thinking about college. My top choice is Colgate University and here are my stats:

GPA: 93/100 unweighted (both freshman and sophomore year)
*nervous because by the end of high school I would have taken 4 regular classes
APs: AP World (sophomore year), will be taking: APUSH, AP English, AP Lit, AP Bio, AP Gov, AP Stats and self studying AP Macro by the end of high school
ACT: aiming for 32-33 (hopefully)
Ethnicity: Asian (from New York)
Recommendation: I can get pretty good ones
*WILL BE APPLYING EARLY
EC:
-secretary of Red Cross for 2 years (10th & 11th)
-Vice President of Red Cross (12th)
-DECA
*qualified to states
-Key Club
-National English Honor Society
-National Math Honor Society
-National Science Honor Society
-National Global Honor Society
-National Business Honor Society (will get some board position)

Achievements (not that impressive):
Published poem
Semi-finalist in Stonybrook Japan Writing Contest

Recently, Colgate just posted the stats for the class of 2019 and the average GPA is a 3.8 out of 4.0 - this makes me nervous because my GPA is only a 93 unweighted (is that good enough?)
Do I even have a chance at Colgate University?
Thanks!

Yeah, of course you hAve a chance. If you really want to go, just apply. Just make sure to apply elsewhere later and don’t be too dead set on Colgate.

Relax and come back your junior year with SAT/ACT scores. Make sure to work hard and don’t slack off! Good luck!

Your GPA is in the mix for getting into Colgate. What type of high school do you attend/do you have legacy? These factors will influence your admission decision too. I’d say your ECs are a little on the weak side, so if you want to improve something on your resume, I’d say diversify your ECs more. You’re a solid candidate and don’t worry too much about admissions. What I’ve learned for college is not where you go, but what you do with the school’s resources. Good luck with everything!
