<p>My parents live in the same household but aren't married. I think I'm stated as a child in my mom's tax returns but I'm not stated in my dad's.</p>
<p>If your parents are NOT married, but you live in the same house with both of them…your custodial parent in the one who earns the most money. It does not matter who declares you on your taxes.</p>
<p>So…the parent who earns the most money would be the one on the FAFSA. The other parent would not be used at all.</p>
<p>For Profile, the parent with the MOST income would be the custodial parent. The other parent would complete the Non-Custodial parent Profile if your school requires it.</p>
