Do I get to choose any major within a B.Sc. Group that I'm admitted to?

Hi all, I’m admitted to Life Sciences and I’m interested in Pharmacology and Chemistry - Materials. Here are my questions:

  1. Does admission into Life Sciences mean I can choose any B.Sc. program (I don’t mean honours) under the Life science group?
  2. How easy/hard is it to change from life science to physical science? To engineering?
  3. Would the freshman program prevent me from getting into the major I want? As in, is there another admission-like process after U0 or is it based on which group I got into?

Or simply put, my concern is how can I be sure that I can end up in pharmacology.
