On a more serious note... Do you hold down shift while typing or use caps lock? From your typing pattern I would think caps lock would be easier but I see you as more of a shift person.

I prefer to use caps lock.

Depaul grads make an average of 4k a year more on graduation than UIUC grads. According to businessweek. The Strobel honors program is highly respected in the chicagoland area and it’s basically a guarantee that multiple firms will compete over you, opposed to the level of competitiveness at UIUC, where you probably will not stand out at all and have no job offers. I don’t see your problem

Here is what will happen if you choose UIUC. As a UIUC student, you will have one and only one chance to transfer into business, after your freshman year into sophomore – you request transfer in May of freshman year and get decision in June after final grades; if not accepted then, you can never apply again. Last year, the business college took about 50% of those who requested transfer into it. In other words, if you choose UIUC, you face a signficant risk of not being able to transfer into business. With DePaul, you have certainty.

I would choose DePaul. Yes, UIUC is ranked 14 spots ahead at 26, but DePaul is still a well-known business school and has good relationships with some of the well-known firms (The Big Four, Merrill Lynch, Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley). There have also been DePaul graduates who went on to work for Goldman Sachs. Needless to say, you would not be at much of a disadvantage if you were to go to DePaul. And as someone mentioned earlier, the average DePaul graduate is paid a salary $55,000 shortly after graduating, whereas the average UIUC graduate is paid $54,000.

Average salary doesn’t mean squat. It reflects the fact that a high percentage of DePaul grads work in Chicago where salaries and cost of living are high. UIUC gets “watered down” by those who don’t go to a big city.

Thy said, given your situation, I would choose DePaul.

UIUC is regarded as that better business school. However, as I mentioned earlier, it is not that much better than DePaul’s. Considering your situation, DePaul would be the better choice, especially if you are a strobel scholar.
