Do I have a chance as a transfer?

I'm currently attending an out of state university, and I'd like to transfer to UF. I'm a Florida resident.

My current major is Biochemistry. I have 29 institutional credit hours completed with a cum. gpa of 3.334, but I have 30 AP/IB credits. I know that you need 60 credit hours to transfer. I have taken gen chem 1, 2 with lab and I'm taking bio, ochem with lab this coming year.

I don't know when to apply or if I even have a chance as a transfer.

Are there any florida schools I have a chance in?

Hi, I’m sure you have a good chance at any of the public schools in Florida. You may need to meet the 60 credit criteria for a transfer student (see below), but many if not all of your AP/IB credits may count, you’ll need to check with the university.

You have missed the Fall deadline for UF, so you would be looking at Spring 2014. The application deadline would be sometime between Sept 1 and Nov 1 (based on your major).

Since you’re applying directly to your college, you would have to meet their requirements (for Biochemistry, for example, which falls under the College of liberal arts and sciences).

Click on the Chemistry-Biochemistry link for that departments requirements; core classes and GPA (minimum GPA is 2.75 in your core classes…2.5 GPA overall).

Good Luck!
