PLEASE REPLY!!!!

Your grades are okay. However you have listed way too many things for volunteer work and sports. You can’t write on your application that you are one of the fastest girl sprinters on your track team. There is no where to write that. You need to show it with results. Everything else seems fine, but it’s a little odd that you have a few ECs for only one year. Seems like you’re trying to pad your application or something. If you do good on your SSAT I think you’ll get into Concord & Groton, not sure about Choate or Andover.

Thanks…I’ll stop “padding my application” but i did those activities. Its just that I am new here and I saw some other posts and I might have got a wrong idea. I really want to get into Choate!!! What do you think is important in my application and you have kind of scared my about my grades… And I really appreciate you replying so early after my post! I AM SO NERVOUS!!!

and is there any other schools i should try?

Wow, your application sounds outstanding! As @kathryn6422 said, don’t pad your application. Do things you are truly passionate about.
Either way, sounds great! Best of luck! :)

Thanks Bubblegum, does anyone have any advice on interviews and essays?

On interviews: be nice, modest and polite, even if you’re not :D. Don’t try too hard to impress the interviewer - your intellectual capability is already proven by your academic transcript, SSAT scores, etc. Now it’s the time to let your personality shine.

On essays: I can’t comment because the schools I got into were those I wrote weird/eclectic essays for. For the one school I was rejected by - my essays were the most formal, polished, and heavily edited. I can’t say the essays were the reason I was rejected, but that’s the hindsight.

Sorry StarJazzy, didn’t mean to scare you! If you keep up those grades you’ll be fine.

For the interview, be polite and respectful, but still be yourself. Don’t be afraid to be funny, joke a little, or let your guard down. The AOs want to see the real you!

Essays- well, I only applied to one school, and I think my essays were pretty unique. One was a first person narrative of my experience winning the State Championships with one of my teams (the team/‘sport’ itself was a bit unique as well). The other was a reflective essay about my family, with a lot of ‘repitition for effect’. Write like yourself, not like how you think they want to read you. Don’t worry, nobody you actually know is going to read them!

Bottom line: be yourself.

@kathryn6422. Would you elaborate what you mean by

“If you do good on your SSAT I think you’ll get into Concord & Groton, not sure about Choate or Andover.”

kathryn6422, Sorry I misinterpreted you… i kinda slacked off my 6th and 7th grade years while my teachers and parents think I have the capability to get higher grades…and so do I…Im going to try SUPER hard next year… Would eight grade grades matter more because their recent? And I agree with Jersey386…would you elaborate what you mean by “If you do good on your SSAT I think you’ll get into Concord & Groton, not sure about Choate or Andover.” And THANK YOU everyone for your wonderful advice! I cannot tell how much I APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS.

Groton is just as selective as Choate, not sure watchu talking about.
