Do I have a chance at Dartmouth??

<p>I'm a senior and Dartmouth is my DREAM school! I applied ED and got deferred. I plan on majoring in chemical engineering. Do I have a chance of getting in?
GPA: 4.4 weighted, 3.95 unweighted
rank: 12/435
AP tests: US History - 4, American Lit.-4
Classes I'm taking now: AP European History, AP Calculus AB, AP Physics C, AP Statistics, Honors World Literature
SAT's: math - 690; verbal - 650; writing - 700
ACT's: Composite - 32; math - 33; english - 33; reading - 32; science - 28</p>

<p>I think it is a definite possibility. You are clearly an strong student with strong extracurriculars, I think its just a matter of how you came off to the admissions office. I would say that since you are in such a borderline environment in terms of test grades, most of the decision will come from your personality and major achievements. If you dont have many great things to offer, chances are they will pass you up. :(</p>

<p>I agree with Carlinjon. You have a chance. Too bad your SAT scores aren't all in the 700s; that would make a stronger case for an engineering student. If your essays were great and your recs were too, I'd say you should get admitted. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Dartmouth IS a great place.</p>
