I'm only a highschool sophmore right now but I already have my heart set on Emerson. I want to major in publishing and I know they have a great course. Is it to early to tell if I have a chance?
Public School/ White
GPA of about 3.6
PSAT score not very good...but I think I can do better on my actual SAT's. Got a 160 overall
In Art Honors, Student Council, Vice President of Habitat for Humanity group, Peer Advocate, Softball, Dance Planning Group, YIA- a group that does a lot of volunteer work. And next year I want to start up Yearbook as well.
Only in Honors History and English but an A- student, hopefully I'll get into history AP next year.
Since I'm in so few honors I'm really nervous about my class rank
does this look promising though??? if not.. any diffrent ideas??

any thoughts would be very appreciated

It's really too early to tell, but if you continue on the right path, you should have a very good shot. Your grades are pretty good, and your scores will probably reach a strong level for Emerson if you keep working at it. Your EC's are great, but you should be sure to keep up with them over the next two years. Good luck!

thank you very much, I am very worried about my lack of honors classes and how that would a effect me

any more suggestions would be very wonderufl as well

any comments really would be very kind... even if its is bad news for me I would still appreciate it very much

Agree with lioninwinter you are on the right track and your gpa and ecs look fine for Emerson. I know of a girl who got in last year with a couple of honors/ap courses and a lower gpa. If you start to study know and take some practice tests (get SAT study guide books) you will be fine. Take the SATs a couple of times and if you want you can take the ACT also. Some people do better on it than the SAT. Also, I saw a relative of this girl a few weeks ago and the kid loves it there.

thank you so much you both are very helpful I'm beginning to feel more confident with were I stand right now

any more comments also very appreciated

Hopeful, I can't spell (know is now). Have you looked at Emerson or any other schools yet?

well yes there are others but Emerson is my number one school by far, Its publishing program is exactly what I need and I can't seem to find one like it anywhere else. Otherwise maybe Wheaton (MA...nd just because I have a lot of family ho went there) or Clark maybe

meant and not nd and I meant who not ho...

Hopeful, some other schools that have a publishing track/concentration are Hofstra and Drexel.
