Guidance College counselor rec is really good

Teacher Rec also REALLY REALLY GOOD (my history teacher, 3 years)

Extra Acts....

My grades went down hill sophomore year that was when my dad suffered a heart attack. Both of my parents have heart problems. My mom also has major lung issues. Ended up taking care of them

.... please be honest.... what I'm really concerned about is my grades... they suck really hard...

Your GPA puts you in a tough spot. If you have GREAT SAT scores, then I say you have a decent chance. I would estimate…about 18% chance of acceptance ;)

haha thanks yeah 18%!!!

yeah gpa pretty much screwed me over especially honors chem and AP bio

Honestly, that GPA makes things very, very difficult. Considering you’re re-taking the SAT, and you didn’t list your present score I’m guessing you’re not too happy with it as it stands. While it’s always possible to see more, most people don’t gain more than 50 points or so on a retake. While I honestly admire the time you spent taking care of your parents, you asked for honesty, and my honest opinion is that you will not get in.

SAT 2120

Also, out of the 400 students I was the only person to take AP Bio and Honors Pre-Cal Junior Year (AP Bio and Honors Pre-Cal are the hardest classes you can take at my school)

Honors Pre-Cal= Only 12 Students, all Math Team

Gtown is my Harvard

Is your GC gonna explain about your family problems–you should probably make sure the adcoms know the extenuating circumstances that may have affected your grades.

Yeah she put that in the rec

What were your scores on the AP tests you took junior year?

AP US History 4

AP Psychology 3

AP Bio… bad

I think that you are an iffy candidate for the top schools you are looking at (I see that you have posted this same question for numerous schools).
Your 2120 SAT if perfectly fine, but won’t knock out anyone at these schools’ admissions offices. Your GPA is unimpressive, as are your junior year AP scores.
Bottom line: keep your expectations in line but go for your dreams; you’ve got nothing to lose and it is always possible that you might come out a winner. Good luck.

Thank you
