I applied to the University of Marlyand RD back in January. There was a problem with the submission of my documents though, so everything had to be sent in after the deadline. I contacted the school and everything was sorted out. I'm really nervous because all of this was sorted out when people were starting to receive admission decisions (January 27th-ish) and I still have not yet heard back when most heard back so early. Does this guarantee that I'm getting a rejection letter most likely?

I'm also nervous because my SAT scores aren't that great: 560 CR, 570 Math, 700 Writing. My gpa is a 92.9 though, so does that weigh the mediocre test scores? I also have a lot of extracurriculars.

I'm so nervous that I haven't heard back yet... What do you guys think?! Thank you!

Well don’t worry about the SAT scores because mine were lower than yours, but my GPA was high, with a long resume, and I was even a Banneker Key Semifinalist… so I wouldn’t worry about the SAT scores… U can do it! :)

The people that heard back from UMD on January 27th were people who applied to meet the November 1st deadline, also known as the priority deadline. If you meet this deadline then you are offered scholarships. So do not worry you will here back from UMD most likely in early April.
UMD also only looks at your Critical Reading and Math Score so add 560+570.
The range of SAT scores for accepted students is 1250-1480.
You’re EC’s and essays should hopefully balance you out!
Anyways good luck!

Yes indeed… I got a BK invite! Strong essays, short answer questions, and a lengthy resume which was what impressed them. A lot of them asked me about stuff I had done related to my major, and I was the only one from my state who got a BK invite. It all depends on what they’re looking for! I was blessed that they looked for someone like me :’)
