I know Duke is a reach but their civil engineering program is really small (due to lack of interest not competitiveness) and I was hoping that could give me a leg up. Also being an URM but I dont think it will make a huge difference.

Ive already been accepted into Georgia Tech and accepted into Clemson with a 40K merit scholarship

I agree, higher standardized test scores would certainly help as everything else about your application looks great for Duke. But of course, for top 10 schools like Duke, even perfect stats wouldn’t guarantee you admission.

like they said, good gpa, but your test scores are not very pretty. Of course it’s possible, and being an URM definitely helps. your EC’s are strong, so just keep up the gpa and improve your test scores and you have a decent chance

Your ECs, rank, and GPA are great for Duke, but you need to raise that ACT score to a 32 if you want to stand a good chance. Being a URM is helpful, but, at the moment, this college is a reach.

Duke is not easy to get into. Your ACT needs to be higher, or you could retake the SAT.
Your scholarship from Clemson is awesome, though. Congrats on that and GT, I just finished applying to both. Hopefully I’ll be accepted seeing as our stats are very similar

your application looks well above par for duke however SAT may be a concern for you, and yeah Maybe (not necessarily). Your SAT is just lower than the average!

Okay, I’ll be BRUTALLY honest…you are a great candidate and you have a great chance. Especially being a female going into engineering. As others have said, train for that ACT.
You know you’ll succeed wherever you attend.

Honestly around here NC State is the go-to for engineering, BUT I highly respect the choice too go to duke as well. With those stats you could probably get in duke. I honestly wasn’t aware they offered engineering at duke. But hey if you dont learn something new that means your dead lol.

Anyway if I was you I would also put in application too UNC charlotte and NCSU, then see if you could get one of them or to give you a scholarship as well. Good luck.

Also being female and minority also helps your chances so with all that put together you stand a great chance at getting in.

EDIT: and I cant stress this enough as the others have said do as well as you can on the ACT. Id say a 35 would be a great score to get.
