Extracurriculars: Here's what I'm worried about. I had pretty bad social anxiety 9th/10th grade and I've just started getting out of it this year. Needless to say I wasn't involved in too much. My family expects a lot and thinks I can get into Ivy league because I'm "the best" in my school but I don't think they realize my lack of EC. Here's what I've got:
Key club (9th grade only)
Varsity cross country and Track (11th/12th)
I've been involved in a few community races and volunteered but never got my hours.
Small amount of volunteering for teacher and for animal shelter
Possibly national merit scholar

I plan on getting a lot of volunteer work in this summer (I have very limited transportation during the school year) but I'm worried that it will be too late. I feel like this will be the weakest part of my application, so advice on EC and volunteering would be really, really appreciated.

Majors:
Pre-med, nutrition, or psychology

Basically, I want to know what schools are in my reach and what I can do to improve before I apply (over summer/early fall!).

Your lack of EC’s is probably going to make it a solid “no” Ivies expect a lot more than grades, because if it was just that, they would have a lot less applicants with 4.0s and 2350+ that don’t make it. It will also depend on your essay, and a lot of other factors.

I think you mean 211 in PSAT. That is a pretty good score that would get you commended and perhaps semifinalist depending on your state. However, it does nothing for college application. Since you have 3 AP classes, you should be preparing for the AP exam for now and not likely to take the SAT in May. Are you going to taking any subject test in June? It would be the best time to take Chemistry subject test in June since you are taking AP Chem right now. If that is the case, you cannot take SAT1 in June either. You may take ACT on 6/8 though. You do need better planning. Most Junior should have taken ACT/SAT at least once by April already. Without a real test score, there is no point for chancing. Assuming 2110 to be your SAT score, ivy is reach for you (and almost for everybody). The score is slightly below the average of admission stat for ivy while the acceptance rate is usually below 10% even with average stat. So to increase your chance, you need to be all rounded with good EC and beyond average scores plus some hooks.

2110 is rather low for Ivies, but I’m pretty sure you can get above a 2200 at least since it’s not that hard to study for. Your grades are good, but your lack of ECs will hurt you. Top colleges have too many high-achieving students applying, so your ECs are a way to distinguish yourself.

Thanks so much for your answers!
I was planning on taking the SAT June 1, along with the SAT II Chemistry and US History, along with the ACT June 8. I know it’s going to be tough and I’m pretty late, but I don’t qualify for the fee waivers and my family didn’t have the finances earlier in the year.

On a side note, I’m a vegan and I run a pretty popular blog where I post recipes and fitness info and answer people’s questions, it gets quite a bit of traffic and I make money off of ads. Would this qualify as an extracurricular or a “hook”?

Also, if Ivy league is a far reach, how about:
University of Chicago
UCLA/ UC Berkeley
Johns Hopkins
University of Florida (I live in fl)

Thank you for letting me know! I read that you could take 3 SAT tests on the same day but it didn’t specify if that was for both SAT and SAT II.

So should I wait to apply to most schools until I’ve taken the SAT IIs, or can I apply and send scores later?

You can take 3 subject tests (SAT2) on the same day since each subject takes 1 hour. You can never take SAT1 and SAT2 on the same day.
You can always apply and send in scores later (or vice versa), however, if the scores will affect your list of schools for applications, you may want to wait for the scores first. Nevertheless, you can send scores to 4 schools for free when you register for the test and you may change the list until around a week after the test. I would suggest to put the safety schools and schools require all scores on the list for free score report with the test registration.

SAT, course selection, and EC all relatively weak for any Ivy. Just saw a file stronger than this on first two, equal on third, and valedictorian turned down by Chicago. Sorry to offer bad news.

It seems you are not well informed regarding college application. As a result, you have not planned your test schedule earlier and you do not know the details about the tests. Your school counselor should have coach you (or your parents) about that months (perhaps years) ago. You probably should seek some advise from your counselor. Also, many of the top schools require/recommend more than 2 years of HS foreign language (e.g. 4 years for Harvard and 3 years for Brown). So your chance would be even lower for those schools disregarding the test scores.
