Do I have a chance at Penn in RD class of 2015?

I applied to Penn under the Regular Decision program and REALLY want to join the class of 2015. I have pretty much everything, in terms of number, within Penn's middle 50% range. I also participate in extensive community service, including hospital volunteering, and hold numerous leadership positions in and out of school. I have a legacy as well - my father is a graduate. I would just like to know, especially from current or admitted students, if I even have the slightest chance of getting in RD, seeing that the number of applicants has been through the roof everywhere this year. My scores are below. THANKS!!

Idk, probably not quite enough. You need great EC’s and rec’s along with the essay and stats. How are those things??

My personal essay is very good, in my opinion. The Penn essay was good, but not quite as as good as my personal one. One rec letter was exceptionally good (teacher talked about how most of my class dropped after first week, but I stuck with it). The other was decent. I don’t really expect to get into Penn, but who knows.

Well, are you a URM? Or are you really poor? lol these things may help.

haha unfortunately neither. i’m white (affirmative action blows) and and thankfully, my family is lucky enough financially to be able to attend a school like Penn, which I am very grateful for

My son was told that he had no chance on here…and he was accepted ED…similar stats but my son’s SAT’s were lower. Good luck!

woohoo that’s good to hear

I’m in the same boat as you. Our stats are practically the same, and while I’d say my EC’s have a slight edge on yours, you have a legacy so in the end you probably have the advantage.
Good luck! (:

thanks for the reply. i hope we both get in, but you never know. this year is the hardest in history
