Do I have a chance at Stanford or Dartmouth

GPA- 4.14 weighted/ 3.71 unweighted
Stanford weight- 3.714 unweighted
(School weights all honors and AP classes to a 5)
Took most challenging schedual, as many honors as possible.

SAT I: 2060, retook june, hopefully above 2100.

SAT II: 770- Bio, 790- US History

AP- Junior year- Bio, US History
Senior year- Calc, stat, self studying government and microeconomics

ECs: EMT- volunteer with local volunteer ems service- on call a couple of hours per week, really fun stiff, probably going to focus on this for an essay

Boy Scouts- almost eagle(getting it this summer), ASPL(second in charge) for a year and a half

Work- Lifeguard and aquatics instructor at a non-profit organization (YMCA), 15 hours per week, teach preschoolers how to swim
Lifeguard at local beach this summer

Sports- Varsity Track- 2 years, Captain
Varsity cross country- 1 year

Violin- local orchestra, regionals, nothing spectacular, probably not going to mention.

well, those are my top reach schools. Do i have a shot at them? I am going to focus mainly on my EC's for my essay. I am also asian, dont know if it would help or harm me much.

Thanks

wow you are a lot like me. i have a 3.72 UW & got a 2070 on the SAT's in March. I am also finishing up my Eagle.

So as someone who has looked a lot for myself on these boards, the bottom line is a 4.0 / 2400 MAY be rejected at Stanford or Dartmouth. A typical accepted applicant will have about a 3.9 / 2200. What this means is you could be accepted with your current stats, but if you want to have a good shot your SAT needs to be above avg b/c of your below avg SAT -- meaning 2250+.

But yes you have a chance...your EC's are fairly solid. Just try to get your grades & SAT's up as much as possible by the time you apply.

Good luck! :)

well, anyother thoughts?

I think i will also apply to tufts, gtown, upenn, usc, with uconn and penn state as my safeties

I think your second group are more realistic.

I would add a couple more places in between gtown and Penn/ Tufts, maybe Emory or Northwestern?

i need to be able to go skiing, or else i would kill myself, so i will not even consider the south or the midwest.

do you think there are any others that I should consider?

What about LACs? Colby, Bowdoin, Colgate? Maine is not popular with Asians which could be an advantage for you at the first two.
