Also i have another questions, will my senior year grades be factored in to my overall gpa and rank when i apply to colleges in the fall?

Hey CrimsonSon, welcome to CC!

Wow, this has to be one of the hardest chance threads I have looked at. Here's my diagnosis (unexpert advice of course!).

The first thing adcoms look at is your transcript. While your courseload is very rigorous and looks good, your GPA is way too low for the Ivies. This is the Mount Everest you are going to have to get over to have even a small chance.

But what makes it hard is that your EC's are absolutely amazing. And you are a first generation URM. And your ACT is pretty good too. For HYP, I would say:

Rejected at Harvard
Waitlisted at Princeton
Waitlisted at Yale

What ivies are you specifically looking at? And have you taken SAT IIs yet? You are required to have three for HYP...

Good luck!

ok, thank you for your input, and can i factor my senior year grades? I know i can get straight A's next year extremely easily. But i was looking at like UPenn, Brown, Princeton, Columbia, UMich, Cornell, NYU, and some other top tier schools
Also, my GPA should be a hell of alot higher, My GPA is based on a very odd grading scale, if it were based on a normal it would be around 3.55-3.6. So yeah i think that should make a difference.

I have not taken the SAT IIs but i plan to, one in math II, french, and physics.

I'd also like to point here that very few of the chance threads are actually reliable.

Most likely rejected at all of the ivies, but you have amazing ECs...really awesome. However, your GPA is a huge factor. But then again a little "African American" goes a long way. I don't know for sure, but I will not you false hope. I say apply to some, but not all.

Bring that GPA to a 3.5 or 3.6 and you'll have a DECENT shot at some of the lower Ivies (not HYP).

And raise that ACT!

I think it is up to the school whether or not senior grades count in the gpa. Colleges will see As in senior classes on your transcript though. Even if you have a low gpa, I believe that your ECs show ivies that you have leadership (owning a buisiness and leadership positions), and specialized computer/math skills. The first generation URM with this skill is not like the common 2400/4.0 community service stuff most applicants have.

I say you should apply but also look for a range of saftey schools. I heard our class of '09 is most competitive and everyone needs safety schools.
