i'm a junior in highschool looking at these film programs
- NYU
- Ithaca
- Emerson
- Syracuse
- Bard
- CUNY Hunter
my dad passed away when i was in ninth grade and my grades definitely lowered that year (about a 3.45 wighted GPA). my sophomore year i raised my gpa to a 3.65 (weighted) and this year ai have been doing even better, getting high honor roll so far. i am expected to get in the 1800s on my SATs. i know that these film schools look at portfolios and i have already written a short film, produced a short film, and am in the process of writing and shooting another one. i have an immense amount of extra curriculars and community service. i was an intern at a proffessional theater as their official photographer and videographer. i also studied at the NY film academy over the summer. i run my school's film club too.

i'm very worried that my grades aren't high enough for these schools though. besides raising my grades is there anything else i can do? do i have any chances at these schools?
