Do I have a chance at top U.S. schools (i.e. Princeton, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, MIT, etc.)?

Today at 11:59 pm in Nepal
I really want a spot at one of the top schools (especially ones good at CS), though I really have no idea what my chances are. My scores/academic are good (not perfect but acceptable for most schools in the U.S.) and my extracurriculars are decent (not sure if they are standout though). I’d love to year opinions on how strong I am as a college applicant!

Here are my stats:

GPA: 4.44 (W), 4.0 (UW)

Rank: Was 2nd but school ranking discontinued senior year

SAT I: 1540 (750 reading, 790 math)

SAT II: 790 Math II, 760 Chemistry
APs: European History (5), Computer Science A (5), Statistics (4), Chemistry (5), Environmental Science (5), Calculus AB (5), U.S. History (4), English Language (3)

Extracurriculars: Tennis (top 20 in Virginia, varsity team captain); violin (have played for 12 years at an academy); have spent free time teaching myself Java, Javascript, HTML, JavaScript, machine learning, and web development; Science Olympiad (1st place in Virginia for Code Analysis); Interned for a summer at a computer science research institute; Interact club treasurer (does lots of service projects), did student government for 2 years, and lots of independent volunteering hours. As you can see, my extracurriculars are decent but I don’t know if they are standout.

Honors: National honor society, Mu alpha theta, couple awards for being top 10 in class rank. Again, not bad but not great either

Race: Asian

Background: Family makes more than $200k

Intended major: CS

Recommendations are all good

Common app essay is solid, not sure how my supplements will go though

Let me know what you think my chances are at top colleges!

Congratulations! You are a very competitive applicant. You have a reasonable chance at getting in to at least one of the schools you listed. Of course you should have matches and likely-schools on your list too because your top choices are reaches for everyone.

Be more specific regarding your volunteer hours on your actual applications. Colleges want to see that you care about people or causes besides yourself, and it shows a different side of your character.

Thanks!
