Do I have a chance (ED or Regular)?

Hey guys, do you think I would stand a chance at Dartmouth for Computer Science?

Stats:

Hey guys, I'm a junior at my high school and am wondering if I stand a chance at any of these colleges. So here are my stats!

GPA: 96.5% Weighted (School doesn't do unweighted).
SAT: 2160 (680 CR, 690 Writing, 790 Math).
SAT Subject Tests: 800 Math II, 790 Chemistry
AP's taken: Ap Biology (4), AP Chemistry (4).
Senior Schedule: Ap Physics B, Ap Calculus AB, Ap Environmental, Robotics, English 12 CP, Senior Service, Adv Gym (Mandatory), Science Research Honors.
Class Rank: 6/361 (Top 2%)

I have a very strong upward curve for grades between Freshman year and now, like a 3.4 Freshman to 3.8-3.9 now.

EC's:

FRC Robotics - Team Captain, Designer, Lab view Programmer (10,11,12)
Designed two 3d action games using Microsoft Visual C++ and the Direct X API - Non-Monetary
Varsity XC (9,10,11,12) - All Academic and First Conference Team Junior year
Researched security flaws in the windows operating system (2 years - no paper published yet).
2 years team member and 2 years team Leader for local religious group - fund raised for local church and the needy.
2 Years Math League (9,10) - School Discontinued it after sophomore year.
2 Years Dunkin Donuts Crew Member - 25 hours a week - done during school weeks too.
Science NHS (11,12)
German NHS (10,11,12)
Winter Track (9)
Spring Track (9,10)
Group Leader at an annual Anti-Bullying Summit.
6 Years Volunteer Service at annual local church carnival
Parking attendant at a local water-park.
Winner of the RIT Computing Medal.

I am taking the SATs again in November - is this possible for ED or should I apply regular? And do I stand a chance at all or has admissions just gotten impossibly harder now?

That's about everything. Thanks in advance everyone!

Edit - I’m a senior - mistyped lol

I’d say you have a great shot! Your CR and Writing scores are a bit low, but the math was high, so I wouldn’t worry too much about that…

Good luck! :)

Well I’m gonna retake SAT’s to raise CR & Writing. Is ED worth doing too, I heard you have a slightly higher shot.

Anyone lol?

Dartmouth ED is ridiculously hard to get into (and I’m not just saying this because I got rejected lol). The admit rate may be higher, but many athletes and legacies skew the data. That being said, my best friend was accepted ED. He had a 34 ACT, 4.0 unweighted, valedictorian, soccer captain, started a foundation in Haiti with his brother, etc. and he was the nicest kid you’ll ever meet. So, yes you definitely have a chance, but it all comes down to a lot of luck and essays. If you love Dartmouth, apply ED; if you just want to go to a really good school and apply ED, I’d apply to somewhere you would get into for sure.

Okay thank you!

To my eye, it looks like your chances will depend largely on how outstanding your computer-related activities are. I have no way to gauge that. Other than that, your CR score could definitely be higher, your course rigor looks shy of most rigorous, your class rank is fine, and your ECs (including jobs and volunteering) are fine.

Something you might be able to do to help is get your games/Windows research evaluated by a knowledgeable person who would write you a glowing rec. I’m even wondering if you could submit a draft or something that could be evaluated by the CS dept (like an arts supplement…). Getting something published would be great, of course, but it sounds as if the odds of that happening are slim in the time remaining.
