Do I have a chance for Cornell SHA?

Hi,
I have had my sights set on Cornell SHA (my desire is in Culinary Arts, but also looking for a business/entrepreneurial base to thrive in the industry). I know that it’s quite competitive but not sure if my stats and ECs, etc will be enough to get in? My stats and such are below for reference. Please let me know my chances and any suggestions!

GPA: 4.0/UW, 4.89/W

ACT: 34 (35E, 35R, 31M, 33S)
SAT: 1390 (740M 650E)

ECs:

  • Band Drum Major
  • National Honor Society
  • Tri-M Music Honor Society
  • Spanish Honor Society
  • Interact Club – Was selected and attended RYLA (was an officer last year)

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Currently Volunteer in a commercial kitchen shadowing the executive chef, working meal and ingredient prep, etc. (I have a food handler license in my state)
  • Volunteer each summer in catering for a large conference, helping as wait staff and in the kitchen. This is a one week commitment each summer

Awards:

  • APs: 6 completed, 3 in progress this year. Of the 6 so far, I have a 5, a 4 and the rest are 3’s
  • AP Scholar with Distinction
  • AP Capstone Diploma
  • State Scholar (Not AP related)

Volunteer Work: Volunteer monthly at a non-profit food pantry. I started this a year prior to starting HS, and still do it today. I also tutor other students in math.

Gender: Male

Please let me know your thoughts or any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Do you mean you want to do the Associate degree with CIA? You apply for that in 2nd year.

In the meantime…

“Shadowing” an Exec Chef and a week of being a catering volunteer in the summer is pretty weak for hospitality experience.

What do you do all summer?

Your GPA is obviously great, and your ACT is strong (I wouldn’t send the SAT), but what else do you really bring to this party?
