Also what is up with the summer term B program? Do they place me into both pools (fall and summer B)?
Please be honest. Thanks

Summer B does not give you an advantage over Fall, so just choose the term you personally prefer. Although your GPA is low, you have excellent class rigor and SAT scores. Your ECS, minority, and first generation statuses may save you. If you can write an EXCELLENT essay you may have a chance at getting in. I can see you really have a passion for medicine, so be sure to emphasize that. Don’t worry about SAT subject tests; UF does not consider them. Good luck.

Your GPA is low and your SAT is slightly above last year’s average. I would definitely apply, really the only thing holding you back is your GPA. You definitely have a shot though!

I think you definitely have a chance, and you should apply. Are you expecting to do well in the classes you are taking this semester? I would put in some extra effort into them to bring up your GPA, because I think if your GPA was a little better you would have a very high change of getting in. Having a weak spot in your application doesn’t mean they won’t consider you, because UF considers your extracurricular activities and test scores, which both of yours are pretty good.

And as for which term to apply, pick whichever you prefer because UF will place you in the term they want you to enter in. A lot of people applied for Fall last year but UF accepted them for Summer B, so if they want you to start Summer B they’ll put you there either way.

It is a holistic admission. If your essay is decent and you are located in a geographic zone where they take a lot of students, I think you have quite shot at getting in. Good luck!

It’s posts like this that infuriate me. Yes. of course you have a shot. With 8 AP courses in 1 year why wouldn’t you. This gets me so angry because I don’t have half of what you have and I’m still holding out hope to get in. You’re so obviously way above average and if you don’t know that then I encourage you to open your eyes. I’m honestly not trying to be rude but it’s almost offensive for you to say you have no chance. The only thing that is bad is your unweighted gpa and that’s because you have all these crazy hard classes that they love to see people take. I go to a high school that offers 4 AP classes senior year and that’s it. I do apologize for the rant just please don’t be arrogant.

In short: You should have no problem getting in as you are ABOVE AVERAGE in almost everything.
Good luck

I’d say it’s a toss up. You clearly have a hard curriculum and superb ECs, decent SAT scores, but poor grades. You should definitely apply. Considering that it is a holistic process, you’ve got a chance, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up to much unless your GPA rises substantially.

If he gets in, the grades just need to be status quo (no need to increase - they will not reject you after being accepted).
