Do I have a chance in getting into Colombia?

So my situation is a bit critical:

I am a Junior in a Charter school that offers no gym! However, we are obligated to take all classes given to us meaning that through my high school years I've taken all classes assigned and more than the amount of regents needed. The passing grade at my school is a 70, so I guess colleges would take that into consideration. We also have a extended day where we start school at 8:00-8:30 (depending on your grade) and we are dismissed at 4:30-4:40. Our enviroment is a very rigorous evniroment. We have a hour and a half and hour classes for all main subjects. We also get 30 minute classes (review classes) and I take art as well.

In my Freshman and Sophmore year I took all the classes assigned including the language of Mandarin and youth leadership advisory classes. I've received awards for academic excellence. However, my GPA isn't the highest. I just received my first semester grades for my Junior year at my school.

English III: 94
Us History & Government: 86
Pre-Calculus: 85
Physics:71
YLA/CDP(youth leadership advisory): 85
Art:84
Health:90 (not physical health)
Spanish:92 (taking spanish this year after have taken mandarin)

Before getting this semesters grades all my grades were in the 90's but my grades harshly decreased due to absences (excused) and not being able to make-up the work.

I am part of the Rachel's Challenge Club.
-I participated in many science competitions and did volunteer work.

I am part of the step team at my school
** Looking forward to joining a debate team and cooking club of which i'm waiting for the school to start since my school hardly offers any clubs.

Another detail about my school is that during our Junior and Senior year we are required to take part in a internship we are assigned to are to complete 100-200 hours (not sure yet) our we will not be able to Graduate. I will be part of the internship by next month which is the start of the internship.

If I improve my GPA is there a chance I will get into Colombia? I know Sat scores count but I haven't taken them yet so I am not relying on that, however, I am a very good test taker. The school faculty and I get along because of my way of being polite and I know I will have many of them giving me reccomendations because of my way of being and performance in classes.

What's your personal opinion on my situation? And if not Colombia what good colleges do you reccomend that with my Performance I could get into? (I aplogize for making this long but I really need the help)
THANKS!

If you misspell the name of the university on your admissions application, rest assured you’ll have no chance.

I agree with LakeWashington (^) about spelling the name of the university correctly. You should also seriously be considering taking SATs or ACTs soon (if you haven’t already since November), incase you are not satisfied with your mark (or in another case, you KNOW that Columbia won’t be satisfied), you have enough time to prep more and re-take them. I would also advise you not to try “impressing” the admissions by doing many different things, such as suddenly joining that many clubs in one year. It’s almost obvious that you are joining them for the applications. Ivy Leagues like steady, long term commitment then a sudden burst of short but many commitments.

This whole thing also completely depends on what you plan to study. What ever it is you want to study, I truly hope that starting with your Junior year, you have picked courses and activities that are some what related to what you want to study in university.

Step one: learn how to spell Columbia.

Hello, I am a Junior at Middle Creek High School, and am curious. Look, I have always wanted to go to Columbia University, it has been always my first choice, pretty much, well mostly ALL MY LIFE, and then my second choice has been New York University (NYU)!!! I had a great freshmen year, but I had a rough sophomore year, and did not end up with the grades I had planned, and wanted to achieve/excel with those grades and classes. During that year though, there were some family problems, which had interacted with my school work, and gave me a handful/plentiful to deal with, and my GAD/SAD (General Anxiety Disorder/Social Anxiety Disorder) kicked in badly!!! I was able to manage, overall, with a D, a 3.2 GPA weighted (so far!!), and then taking senior year 7 AP classes, 12 AP exams, a NATIONAL AP SCHOLAR, and maybe even, the State AP Scholar in NC, but idk 4 sure about that!! Oh, and I also forgot, because of the things happening at my old home, in MA, I ended up moving to NC, where my dad lives, and I am back to my old self with school, I got honor roll again w/ SPECTACULAR grades!!!

So, this is how my grades r on my transcript so far, and I will also put down the classes that I will be doing and self-studying for next year, and they are:

Social Studies/History Courses
AP United States History (Class at school)
AP European History (Might or might not take class at school, if not self-studying then, with friends, teachers, etc. (Review Book(s)))

AP Spanish Language (Class at school)
AP Spanish Literature (Self-studying, since I talk this language, and am like a native speaker (Cuban), which is a bonus, and family, teachers, etc. will help me review (Review Book(s)))

Elective(s) Courses
AP Psychology (Self-studying, and I have heard it is the easiest exam, but not only that, I have friends, family, teachers, etc. (Review Book(s)))
AP United States Government & Politics (same reason as other AP classes I am self-studying for, but mostly look at the AP World History parentheses, pretty much the same reason, in that case)
Introduction to College Math Honors (not really, but only if I don’t get an AP class that I chose, so this will b an alternate)
Anatomy & Physiology Honors (not really, and same reason Intro to College Math Honors)
Theatre Arts 1 and 2 (duh, one huge reason y I want to go into Columbia, and 1 of my majors!!)
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel (my dad picked this elective course, so I can type faster!)

Now, you make think that I am crazy, and will have no life, which may be true, but I don’t mind school work, or homework, I don’t like it, but if I have to do it, I don’t mind doing it then!!! Also, my GPA will go up higher, the AP exams cost WAY less than these courses in college!! I took the SATs today, since I am a junior of course, so it would make sense to take the SATs for a junior in the spring!!! Lastly, I am double majoring in Theatre/Performing Arts (Drama/Theatre Arts/Musical Theatre) and Teaching (anything except English, but don’t know wt I want to teach exactly, and if that is the case, in a school or college, since this is kind of my back-up plan from the other major)

Please reply with any comments, questions, and concerns you may have!! Ask anything curious that you do not understand, and thank you so much for reading this, and for your input, bcuz every little opinion and response counts!! Thank you!! A hopeful acceptant to Columbia University

You’ll need a passport.

@Cellist, What do you mean by that?

Because Colombia is a country in South America, man.

lmao you can’t even spell the name of the school and you want to go there?..um KEEP DREAMING!
