Also, I heard from a few counselors that Wash U rejects qualified applicants if they don't show enough interest. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to visit campus at all. Is there any way I can make up for this?

Thanks!

You have outstanding test scores, but it seems that you have many varied outside activities. You want to show passion for something you do; make sure your essay reflects that.

As for interest...by personal experience, I'm not sure if this interest thing for WashU is even true. WashU seeks well-rounded students who want to make a difference in the world.

i disagree with avocado. i think interest is very important when talking about washu admissions. This is from personal experience. I know many people with same, or even better stats than me who got deferred and one thing many of them told me was that they felt that they did not show enough interest ie do an interview, etc. If you can, try to arrange an interview and also keep in touch with you admissions counselor at WashU. This will mos def help. In addition to this, you may want to write a "why WashU" essay.

Thanks for the input! I'm planning to call them after the winter break for an interview, hope it goes well. :)
