<p>I'm white and from Arizona. I have a 1390 CR+M score and a 2060 overall superscored. I've taken 5 AP exams with at least a 4 on all of them. I'm ranked in the 99.5% out of 600 students at my school (3 out of 600). My unweighted GPA is 4.0 and my weighted is 4.833. I'm a two sport varsity athlete and I have a lot of extracurriculars, including treasurer of two clubs. I have all AP's this year and my letters of rec are solid. I'm guessing my chances are pretty low. </p>
<p>Would an interview be beneficial? And how should I prepare for the interview? Thanks!</p>

<p>I’m fairly similar to you, just a few tenths lower on GPA and 40 points lower on CR+M but same over all score. I don’t think it’s a guarantee by any means, but there is still enough of a chance that warrants applying. The only reason I can think of to not apply would be if you didn’t value the $75 app fee as being of value in relation to your interest in the school. NU doesn’t have a predictable accepted applicant profile as they look for certain qualities that stand out in each student. I think it’s worth the shot!</p>
<p>I, personally, just registered for an interview. NU makes it very clear that the interview is optional and there are very limited opportunities to get an interview. They are more informative than anything else, so you aren’t really being judged personally on how well of a fit you are for the school. It’s just another way that you can show the University that you have genuine interest and it definitely looks favorably on your application. Still, I’m sure the interviewer submits some form of a report to the University after the interview is over, so be sociable, dress modestly, and be yourself!
