Yeah, you can get into boarding schools guaranteed, but I can’t guarantee that you could get into the BEST boarding schools. Your grades are pretty good, need to work on 77%, if you’re applying for 10th grade, you have to work hard on your SSATs, they expect that you’ll be smarter and get a better grade than the 8th graders.

It depends on what boarding school you go to.
If youre applying to those top schools like Exeter, Andover, and St. Pauls, you got to work a little harder. And you probably need a little more comunity service and activities, Other than that, fine

ok, there are no true “feeder schools” anymore, but if those are your grades and your school is easily recognizable, then getting into a good school probably won’t be a problem, even with the 77

The sad thing about junior boarding schools is that most kids actually end up hating their junior and senior years because they’ve been at jr boarding since 7th grade or even younger…

Also, they don’t feed into high tier boarding schools necessarily… They normally just feed into boarding schools in general.

If you are a feeder school they probably expect you to have better grades than other people who are applying. Which schools are you applying for?

^…?
Those are very good grades. They are especially great for an awesome private school. To put it bluntly; I’m positive that the work is more rigorous at the school the OP goes to, than most public schools. That being said, with more rigorous work and harder grading, you won’t be getting quite as good grades at a rigorous private school, as you would at a public school. They look at applicants from good private schools very highly, because they know that the kids there will be prepared for the work at boarding school. Most of the time they are better prepared than applicants who are coming from public schools.
I am not putting down public schools, in any way, form, or fashion. I’m just stating that generally a good private school curriculum is more rigorous than a public school.

And to answer the OP’s initial question: You should be fine. Even with the 77. Your grades are awesome, and it seems like you have decent EC’s. Although, if you added a few more EC’s to the list, that would only up your chances. Good luck! :D

At 14 years old, you are able to apply to boarding school. You just can’t apply now because you are too late and the admissions process has already finished; we are just waiting for our acceptance letters.
