Do I have a chance of getting in?

Hey all. I applied to Smith back in December. I was wondering if you think I'll get in. Here are my stats.

SAT score: 1340 (760 math, 580 verbal)
GPA: 3.7 out of 4.0
SAT IIs: 650 in Math IC, 670 in Writing, 510 in History (bad, I know)
AP exam in U.S. History: 2 (bad again, I know)
I have yet to take AP Calc and AP Bio exams.

I've taken all AP classes and honors level courses throughout high school. I made the High Honor Roll in Freshman/Senior year and Honor Roll my junior year. The reason I didn't make it Sophomore year was because I got C's in Algebra II and Chemistry.

Student Council President

National Honor Society member

National Honor Roll

Big Brothers'-Big Sisters' Program

Volunteer at Retirement Home

Volunteer at school library

Summer camp counselor

Choir member

Soloist/first chair/band leader in six instrumental ensembles

I play three instruments on a skillful level

Who's Who Among American High School Students

A chance, yes. Where else are you applying?

C's in Algebra II and a 760 SAT Math? Hmm. And that 510 in History...ouch.

Knock of the Who's Who and the EC/etc. profile looks okay. The 580 Verbal makes me wince a little but the 760 Math will but you very high in Smith's applicant pool.
My educated guess is that you're a "probable" but I would hold my breath until you get your letter.

See, the reason why I got a 760 in math is because I studied really hard. Also, the type of math they give on the SATs is different than the type you learn in school. Most of what you learn in Algebra II isn't on the SAT, as you only get assessed in Geometry, Algebra, and Arithmetic.

As for the verbal, I don't know why I did so badly. I've always received A's in honors English classes, so there's no correlation between the my gades and standardized test scores.

I'm afraid that because I have a 760 math SAT and a C in Algebra II, colleges will assume that I was lazy and never worked hard. I just hope that's not the case.
